The Amalfi Coast is very well known as a dreamy destination, and we can confirm that. An itinerary of 3 days on the Amalfi Coast is the right amount of time to join the Italian Dolce Vita. Months won’t be enough though to see and live it like a local, but you can still make the most of it. We will show you what to do and see in 3 days. Are you ready? Let’s go.

Amalfi Coast Itinerary 3 Days: Sorrento
The best idea to enjoy the Amalfi Coast and its surrounding area is to stay in Sorrento (cheaper) for 2 nights. Then, if you want to stay one more extra night, you can move to the dreamy Positano (we will get there). Sorrento is the perfect location and also because it is a lively city all the year.

From Sorrento you can (with us) explore the area by boat through our tours. One of our best tours is the Amalfi Coast (which you can book here) with stops in Positano and Amalfi. You will have some free time, during the tour, to explore a bit of these gems.

Another wonderful itinerary we provide (and we suggest you take) is the Capri boat tour. Below we leave you the best tour departing from Sorrento so you can decide which one fits better for you. If you need help, just ask for help inquiring with one of our staff members.
What to do and see in Sorrento
If Sorrento will be your base during the trip, then you will need some advice too. Don’t worry because we’ve got this, we have an article talking about this beautiful city, so you won’t go blind.
Amalfi Coast Itinerary 3 Days: Positano
One more extra day can be spent in Positano (a suitable alternative can be Amalfi). Positano is always a good idea because it is the most lively city along the coast. Beautiful beaches, stunning photo spots, and slow life. Oh…besides that, you can enjoy its nightlife, which is very active.

We have a boat tour departing from Positano to Capri too (check it here). So, if you can’t make it from Sorrento, we are happy to pick you up in Positano. If you have been wondering what to do in Positano for a few hours we made an article for that:
Amalfi Coast Itinerary 3 Days: Amalfi
Amalfi can be another alternative where to spend the extra night. It is a valid option (especially if you are looking for relaxation). Amalfi, compared to Positano, is less crowded, very small, and easy to visit. You can visit it in 2 hours maximum, but this doesn’t make it less important than the other towns.
