Setting Sail: From Sorrento to the Edge of the World
Our journey begins at the Departure point in Sorrento, where the hustle of the town fades into the rhythmic hum of the engine. Almost immediately, the coast reveals its secrets. We glide past Regina Giovanna, the hidden emerald pool where Roman ruins whisper tales of ancient luxury.
It’s our first photo stop, and the water is so clear it looks like liquid glass. As we round Punta Campanella, the official “tip” of the peninsula, the coastline transforms. The landscape becomes wilder, more dramatic, and infinitely more breathtaking.

Boat Tour from Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi: Coves, Grottoes, and Hidden Gems
The morning is a mosaic of turquoise and gold. We drop anchor at Marina del Cantone, a charming fishing village perfect for our first dip. Here, the swimming and snorkeling are unparalleled.
The exploration continues as we navigate toward:
- Fiordo di Crapolla: A secluded natural inlet steeped in history.
- Tordigliano Beach: A rugged, untouched paradise where we stop for another refreshing swim.
As we cruise further, the iconic vertical village of Positano appears like a mirage. We dock for 1–2 hours of free time, allowing you to wander through bougainvillea-draped alleys. Shop for handmade linen, or simply enjoy a gelato by the shore.
The Heart of the Coast
Continuing south, we pass the legendary Fiordo di Furore, a narrow gorge bridged by a towering stone arch—the most photographed spot on the coast. Just around the bend lies the Emerald Grotto, where the sunlight filters through the water to create an ethereal, neon-green glow within the cavern.
Hungry? We drift past Conca dei Marini, famous for its waterfront restaurants that serve the freshest seafood imaginable. Then, the grand finale of our southward leg: Amalfi. With 1–2 hours of free time, you can visit the majestic St. Andrea Cathedral or lose yourself in the historic “Paper Valley.”
The Dolphin’s Path Home
As the golden hour approaches, we begin our return journey, but the wonders aren’t over. We make a final stop at Li Galli Island, also known as “Dolphin Island.” According to legend, these islets were home to the Sirens. It is the perfect final spot for swimming and snorkeling in the deep, crystalline blue.
As we Return to Marina, the sun begins its slow descent, painting the cliffs of Sorrento in shades of rose and ochre. The journey ends where it began, but you’ll step back onto the dock with the soul of a traveler who has finally seen paradise.

Where are the best pick-up points?
Travelers might ask if they can be picked up directly from their hotel. This depends on whether your hotel has a private pier (like Il San Pietro). Most tours depart from the main dock in Sorrento (where we are) or Positano, Amalfi, Capri etc (Ps we can also pick you up from the last mentioned docks). For a private tour we are at your disposal.
Can we stop for lunch at a seaside restaurant?
This is a highlight for many. Popular spots like Restaurant Cantuccio in Nerano are only accessible (or best reached) by boat. Captains will usually drop you off and wait, but you must book these restaurants weeks in advance. This is a high recommendation if you really desire to enjoy a lunch by the seaside. We can make the reservation for you when you book the boat tour with us, just ask and we will make it happen.
