Stay in the city centre
Staying in the center of Sorrento is the best solution for having everything within walking distance. See the interactive map below.
Day Trip from Sorrento to Positano: Main Beach
Once you will be in Positano, you will be dropped off where the main beach is. You will be in the busiest spot in Positano, and from where you can take some nice pictures too. Consider that, if you go towards the end of the beach, you can see the beautiful skyline of Positano.

Day Trip from Sorrento to Positano: Walk in the City Centre
From the beach, you can move to the city centre, which is very small and easy to visit. Walk around and admire the beautiful narrow streets full of shops and typical things. Positano (like all the Amalfi Coast) is famous for food and retail too. Have you ever heard about “Moda Positano”? Well, if no, you will understand where you will pass the retail shops with its their beautiful dresses.

Best photo spots in Positano
In a hour or two you can 100% make it to a delightful photo spot. You have to walk a bit to reach it and it is worth it. The view is of Positano, but from a higher position. We recommend going there, also because is going to be close if you reach the city centre.

What to eat in Positano
During your stop in Positano you can have a snack to go too. There are many typical things you can try. Ps maybe you can have a proper lunch in Amalfi that is very small, and everything is concentrated in the main square. Here are some ideas for what to eat:
- Pizza
- Pasta with seafood
- Seafood
- Caprese (appetizer)
- Delizia with lemon (dessert)
- Caprese cake (dessert)
- Gelato (never miss a gelato in Italy)
- Limoncello (never miss too)

What to See in Amalfi in a Few Hours
After Positano, and after all you have done, it’s time to move to Amalfi. Amalfi is easier to visit than Positano. Everything is concentrated in the main square with its beautiful Cathedral, that we suggest you to visit. The main square is also the best photo spot, considering that the stairs getting to the Church are very scenic. After Amalfi, it’s time to go back, and there will be time for another stop for swimming. Li Galli is a very small, cute island with beautiful blue water.

Where are the best pick-up points?
Travelers might ask if they can be picked up directly from their hotel. This depends on whether your hotel has a private pier (like Il San Pietro). Most tours depart from the main dock in Sorrento (where we are) or Positano, Amalfi, Capri etc (Ps we can also pick you up from the last mentioned docks). For a private tour we are at your disposal.
Can we stop for lunch at a seaside restaurant?
This is a highlight for many. Popular spots like Restaurant Cantuccio in Nerano are only accessible (or best reached) by boat. Captains will usually drop you off and wait, but you must book these restaurants weeks in advance. This is a high recommendation if you really desire to enjoy a lunch by the seaside. We can make the reservation for you when you book the boat tour with us, just ask and we will make it happen.
